Legacy Griff Guide
Griff
Star Powers

Keep The Change
The worse Star Power for Griff; You only want to use it if you are the aggressor on your team. It also offers him more protection against close-ranged Brawlers since he’s able to attack faster. With a buffed unload speed, Griff can be a menace for the other team, but the extra healing from Business Resilience is more advantageous in the long term.

Business Resilience
The better Star Power for Griff - you want to use it in almost any mode possible. With this Star Sower, Griff makes up for one of his disadvantages (low health) and quickly recovers his health back, allowing him to deal more damage without being as vulnerable.
Gadgets

Piggy Bank
This is the go-to Gadget for Griff. With this equipped, he now has the ability to break walls and open up the map, allowing for more area control. The knockback and damage can be used (in rare cases) for offense.

Coin Shower
This Gadget is not the ideal one for Griff as it is very situational; Much like the Keep The Change Star Power, this Gadget is used if you are playing solely offense. More projectiles can help you, but the Piggy Bank Gadget would give you more control, thus allowing Griff to do what he does best - area control and damage.
Best Game Modes

Brawler Gameplay Style
Griff’s playstyle revolves around versatility, area control, and burst damage. He is a versatile brawler who can be effective in several game modes (such as Brawl Ball or Hot Zone) due to his high damage output, area control abilities, and gadgets that enhance his flexibility. Maps like Center Stage, Open Business or Hot Potato are perfect for him due to his kit.
Gear Selection
Speed Gear (Effective): Griff can make use of this in bushy maps, especially if going for an aggressive playstyle.
Health (Situational): Potentially useful in Heist, allowing you to heal up and attack faster, although Griff’s Business Resilience Star Power does a good job at that already.
Damage (Effective): The essential gear for Griff; Since he has lower health than others, he can do more damage easily, and continue doing what he’s best at - melting others.
Vision (Ineffective): Not really ideal, unless playing on a bushy map.
Shield (Situational): Griff does well without this Gear, but having more health makes him harder to take down, so it is still a good Gear for Heist.
Gadget Cooldown (Ineffective): Having an extra Piggy Bank or increased unload speed could be useful, but not as useful as the other gears.
Reload (Effective): Paired with the damage gear, this makes for a lethal kit for Griff. You will definitely need the extra reload speed in order to continuously keep pumping out your attacks and dealing damage.
Advanced Mechanics
If timed right, Griff can use his Piggy Bank gadget to knock back incoming assassins such as Edgar or Buzz.
Griff’s super can be used in really tight choke points such as the space between the goal and surrounding walls in Brawl Ball in order to limit the card’s spread and deal insane damage to incoming enemies, potentially saving the match.
Griff can cancel his Coin Toss attack by immediately using his super. This allows you to combine your super into your attack as a combo, catching enemies off-guard and dealing massive burst damage in a short amount of time.
Brawler Interactions
Griff can use his Super on a Rosa with her shield activated up to two times, reducing her health by a decent amount despite the damage reduction.
Griff can cancel Tick’s Last Hurrah gadget if he times his Piggy Bank gadget right.
Griff can knock a Willow out of her super while mind controlled, as long as he places his Piggy Bank gadget next to her before.
Griff can one shot assassins such as Crow and Leon by using his Super at point blank.
Buster’s shield can block his Super’s banknotes, but not reflect them back.
Brawler Synergies
Griff synergizes with brawlers like Frank and Meg because they are tanks, who can shield him from incoming damage, allowing Griff to keep attacking.
Griff synergizes with snipers Brock, Colt, and Piper because they are vulnerable to close range assassins, and Griff can do an excellent job at taking them out, allowing the three to keep sniping the enemies unharmed.
