The New Prodigy: A Modern Brand, Site Improvements, Coaching, Draft Board, and What's Next

Why we're rebuilding Prodigy around learning, with a new look, Brawl Stars coaching planned for December, Draft Board, and Tell Me Why on the way.

At some point, calling Prodigy "the draft tool website" stopped being an accurate description of everything we were trying to build.

It was a perfectly good description when this whole thing was a spreadsheet, but as we kept building things the website itself began to lag behind and found itself in desperate need of a refresh.

So, welcome to the new Prodigy. This update brings a completely new look to the site, a new product, new features, the retirement of an old feature, and a lot of quality of life changes.

A New Brand and a Better Website

The new look runs through the whole site, from the homepage to just about every single little pop-up. There's a new logo and animated product icons, clearer navigation, and more consistent controls as you move between pages. We worked with a new designer for 4 months before landing on the brand identity we have now, and that designer has now officially joined our team!

Here are a few of the logo concepts we considered during the rebrand process:

Five logo concepts considered for the Prodigy rebrand, shown in signature yellow on black.

We did our best to keep the drafting tool's familiar layout and basic flow. On phones, we've given maps, Brawler portraits, and results more room on the screen, making those tools more comfortable to use on a smaller display.

Coaching Is Coming to Prodigy

Sometimes you understand the draft on paper and lose the lane anyway. Or you can spot the mistake after a game, then somehow make it again in the next one. Having someone watch you play and work through those decisions with you can help in a way a generated recommendation alone simply can't.

This is something we have been looking forward to for a long time. We originally hinted at this in our April 2025 community letter, and we finally are getting ready to bring a professional, quality coaching service to the Brawl Stars community. At the time of this announcement, we have 4 of the top private coaches in the Brawl community ready for our upcoming launch, exclusively offering their services through our platform. We are seeking up to 4 more, so if you're connected to a qualified professional coach, feel free to point them to our Discord. Being good at Brawl Stars and being good at teaching it are different skills, and we care a lot about both.

We're planning to open Prodigy Coaching on December 1, 2026. Our lineup includes Cori, AlchemicalX, CosmicDoughnut, and Darth, and you can explore their pages now! Each profile will explain that coach's teaching focus and available formats as details are confirmed. Bookings are still closed while we finish the technical setups, pricing, and individual lesson offering details.

Okay, But Why Is That Pick Good?

That question has followed PL Prodigy around for a long time. Fair enough. Seeing a Brawler at the top of the list doesn't automatically teach you when to pick them, so...

We're preparing Tell Me Why for a limited beta. Prodigy Partners (and Unlimited Partners) will be able to select a recommendation and get an explanation of its strategic fit, using a newly constructed Brawl Stars strategy library we created just for this purpose. It will use AI alongside our team's analysis, as well as the context of that draft. We will be improving this dramatically over time, as right now it's in its very early stages, but we are already seeing promising results.

The explanation adds strategic context; it doesn't change the scores or show the scoring model's calculations. We're still testing accuracy before broader access, and we'll share more details as the rollout develops. Since AI generation on a mass scale like this isn't cheap, it will likely remain as a Partner-only feature for the foreseeable future.

Draft Board Gives You Somewhere to Explain The Draft

We're retiring the old ProdigyCast experience. Its drafting and presentation tools now live in Draft Board, with a name that makes its purpose a lot clearer.

You can build a draft, put the Brawlers on a map, move them between lanes, draw routes, and place Gadget or Super markers to explain an idea. On supported Ranked drafts, available matchup estimates can help inform that discussion too.

Imagine reviewing a game where your team lost control of mid. During a screen share, a coach can move the Brawlers into position, draw the route that left a teammate exposed, and show a different approach. You can change the setup and talk through what the opponent might do next.

That is where Draft Board fits in with Prodigy Coaching: our coaches now have a tool to visibly demonstrate and explain better strategies, tactics, and decision-making. Teams can use it to discuss lanes, see matchup odds on the fly, and plan out tournament strategies, while creators can use it to break down drafts.

Team Finder Gets Another Shot

Team Finder has fallen short of what we hoped it would be. An empty board gives people very little reason to stick around, and restrictive searches make that worse.

This update makes it easier to discover teams in your region and checks Ranked compatibility against current ranks. The site also gives you a clear confirmation when you join a listing.

The tool still needs people using it at the same time, but it now shows you far more options to join with other players. Give it another try when you need some teammates!

We're Trying the Site Without Banner Ads

Banner ads have helped support Prodigy. They also take up a lot of room around guides and tools, particularly on phones. We want to see how the site feels when we give that space back.

For this update, we're temporarily removing banner-ad placements.

We'll be looking at whether people use the site more, come back more often, and find the experience better. We also need to see whether coaching, memberships, and creator-code support can sustainably make up the lost revenue.

If that balance works better, we'd like to keep the change. The site needs to support itself, but we think making the site more enjoyable to use is worth giving a shot.

About That ProdigyCast V2...

In our June community letter, we admitted that the original ProdigyCast didn't do enough. Then we wrote:

ProdigyCast V2??? Probably not... but maybe?

In hindsight, "probably not" was doing quite a lot of work in that sentence.

Draft Board has its own job now. We'll leave the ProdigyCast name somewhere safe for the moment.

Keep an eye on 2027.

So What's Next?

We have a lot of ideas still on the table. A couple of them, in fact, are already developed and are just waiting for the right moment to release. We certainly plan to continue improving the draft tool (now dubbed 'PL Prodigy', as we swapped the brand's identity to just 'Prodigy') and its core algorithm. We are actively growing our social media presence on both X and YouTube, and have some really awesome back-end tools in the works to help us with that.

We're excited to grow our coaching team, and as Ranked continues to evolve, we'll keep updating PL Prodigy and its recommendations to keep up with the changes.

Tell Us What You Think

Try Draft Board, have a look through the coaching lineup, and tell us what you think in Discord. We'd especially like to hear how the new site feels on your phone and where you're still getting stuck.

As always, we are incredibly grateful for your support, especially if you've read this far. Thank you for the feedback, support, and willingness to keep trying the things we build. A lot of this update comes from paying attention to how you actually use Prodigy, so please, keep telling us.

If you'd like to support what comes next, please remember to use Code: Prodigy in the Brawl Stars shop. It costs you nothing extra and helps us keep building the tools, content, and community projects you come here for!
