Buster is a passive Support-Tank Brawler; a team player who wants to always be there to protect his teammates, but also help them push forward safely. He can still be strong alone though because of his high stats, good main attack and Super.

His kit is built around team play and defense, which makes him ideal in most passive or control-based modes as he’s one of a kind in that area. Bushy, more closed maps are perfect for him due to Buster being a tanky close range fighter - he wants to be close to his enemies to have the best shot at winning.

Speed (Effective): Higher movement speed helps him make up for his lack of speed while using Super. Also works well with what maps he's played on.

Health (Effective): High HP and passive playstyle; Good choice.

Damage (Effective): Buster's high HP makes it proc when he’s around 4,000 HP, which is still good for him to push. Additionally makes his attack scale a lot better.

Gadget Charge (Effective): His Slow-Mo Replay Gadget is top tier and pairs extremely well with this Gear.

Shield (Ineffective): Buster already has high HP.

Vision (Ineffective): Does not pair well with his kit.

Buster can cancel his shield by attacking during his super.

Buster can activate gadgets whilst using his super.

Buster’s shield projection goes a tile ahead of what the aiming cone shows, allowing him to be able to project his shield through walls. This can be used to either save allies out of reach or stop certain wall-breaking abilities - such as Frank’s super.

Buster’s attack has a very tiny delay between when the animation happens and when the attack comes out; if Buster can activate Slow-Mo Replay in that near frame-perfect moment, he can surprise enemies with it.

Buster’s shield does block Emz’ spray attack and Chester’s Salmiakki Super, but it cannot send a counterattack (projectile) if they get blocked.

Rico, Ruffs and other ricocheting projectiles can ricochet off of Buster’s shield.

Buster’s shield cannot block Bibi, Jacky, R-T (in split form), Doug or Hank’s attacks as they are not considered projectiles by the game.

Buster’s shield cannot block throwing projectiles.

Buster & Gene: Buster’s Trait and Gene’s Magic Puffs Star Power pair well with one another, along with Buster allowing Gene to close the gap necessary for using his Super, which lets Gene pull enemies closer for Buster to deal increased damage to.

Buster & Max: Max’s Super helps Buster move at a greater speed while casting his shield, negating it’s main weakness and allowing Buster to pressure enemies much more.

Buster & Doug: Buster helps Doug close in on enemies while Doug helps Buster remain alive. Together they can apply immense pressure. (that is if Doug is ever played, but that doesn’t stop it from being a great synergy!)
